Attorney Asukwo Mendie Archibong, a former presidential candidate, has been called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. This development marks a significant milestone in Archibong’s career, following his successful completion of the Nigerian Law School Bar Part II program.
Archibong’s journey to becoming a legal practitioner is quite remarkable. After returning from the United States, where he obtained a Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, and a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from George Washington University Law School, he decided to pursue a career in law in Nigeria.
Before his call to the bar, Archibong had already made a name for himself in politics. In 2018, he registered a political party called Nigeria for Democracy (NFD) and became its presidential candidate for the 2019 general election. Under his leadership, NFD had candidates contesting for various positions across 23 states.
After the party’s delisting by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 2021, Archibong transitioned to a new advocacy group called New Forum for Development Initiative, where he continues to promote good governance.

In January 2023 he was admitted into Nigerian Law School Bar Part I. Upon his successful completion of Bar Part I he was admitted into the Nigerian Law School Bar Part II.
He was subsequently Called to Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in July 2025.
Attorney Archibong, has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Uyo.
