Commandant Mr. Gbenga Agun made the commendation while monitoring polling units across four local government areas: Esan South-West, Esan Central, Esan North-East, and Esan South-East.<br><br>Agun attributed the success of the election to the strategic deployment of personnel and adequate security measures. The NSCDC worked closely with other security agencies to guarantee a peaceful process, assuring voters of their safety and protection of election materials. &#8220;We have deployed our men and are working closely with other security agencies to guarantee a peaceful process,&#8221; Agun said.<br><br>Although voter turnout was not massive, Agun noted that voters were casting their ballots without fear. This is a testament to the effectiveness of the security measures put in place by the NSCDC and other agencies. The NSCDC&#8217;s efforts ensured that the electoral process was smooth and devoid of violence or disruption.<br><br>The NSCDC had deployed 20,850 personnel across 12 states, including Edo, to provide security coverage during the by-elections. The corps worked in close collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, the lead agency for election security, to safeguard election officials, voters, and materials.<br><br>The peaceful conduct of the by-election in Edo State is a credit to the NSCDC&#8217;s efforts and commitment to ensuring the safety and security of voters and election materials.
