Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has etched his name into football history by becoming the first player to win the Professional Footballers\u2019 Association (PFA) Men\u2019s Player of the Year award on three occasions. The 33-year-old forward clinched the 2025 honour after an outstanding campaign in which he spearheaded Liverpool\u2019s Premier League title triumph.
Salah was the league\u2019s top scorer last season, netting 29 goals and providing 18 assists, underlining his pivotal role in Jurgen Klopp\u2019s side. His consistent brilliance also saw him claim the 2024\u201325 Premier League Player of the Season and the Football Writers\u2019 Association Footballer of the Year awards, rounding off one of the most decorated campaigns of his career.
In his reaction, the Egyptian international reflected on his journey from humble beginnings to global stardom. \u201cOf course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family, but you don\u2019t think about the big stuff when you are still in Egypt,\u201d Salah said. \u201cWhen you grow, you start to see things differently and you start to have ambition and you start to see the bigger picture.\u201d
Other contenders for the prestigious award included Salah\u2019s Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice. However, it was Salah\u2019s unmatched influence on Liverpool\u2019s title-winning season that secured him the historic recognition.
