His death has sparked widespread mourning across Kenya and the African continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In a statement titled \u201cAdieu H.E. Raila Odinga\u201d posted on his official X account Thursday, Jonathan praised Odinga\u2019s courage, resilience, and lifelong commitment to democratic ideals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cI am saddened by the news of the passing of H.E. Raila Odinga,\u201d Jonathan wrote. \u201cKenya has lost a patriot, and our continent has lost a great leader, one who understood that leadership is not about self, but about service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"342\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.funminews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-118.png?fit=474%2C342\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20989\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.funminews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-118.png?w=474&amp;ssl=1 474w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.funminews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-118.png?resize=300%2C216&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.funminews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-118.png?resize=324%2C235&amp;ssl=1 324w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Odinga served as Kenya\u2019s prime minister from 2008 to 2013 and was a central figure in the country\u2019s political landscape for decades.
