A horrifying case has emerged from Bauchi State, where police have arrested a 17-year-old boy, Auwal Dahiru, and five accomplices for allegedly plucking out the eyes of his seven-year-old sister, Rukayya Muhammad, in a suspected money ritual attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred in Bayan Dutse Village, Wailo, Kubi Ward, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, and was reported on October 17, 2025, by a local resident, Muhammad Adamu, at the Soro Divisional Police Headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Bauchi State Police Command\u2019s spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, Auwal lured his sister into a nearby bush around 8 p.m., attacked her, and forcefully removed both eyes. The girl was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed she had permanently lost her sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis young girl will never regain her vision for the rest of her life,\u201d Wakil stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police swiftly arrested Auwal at the scene and later apprehended five other suspects: Mohammed Rabiu (19), Saleh Ibrahim (20), Nasiru Muhammad, Hassan Garba, and Garba Dahiru (43). All reportedly confessed during interrogation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incident adds to a disturbing pattern of ritual-related crimes in Bauchi. In 2021, police arrested a 22-year-old man, Musa Hamza, for allegedly beheading a teenager and removing his eyes for ritual purposes in Alkaleri LGA. The victim\u2019s body was reportedly burned and buried in a shallow grave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
