UYO, Nigeria \u2014 Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his decision to kick off his first-ever live concert in Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State was driven by the state\u2019s world-class facilities and peaceful environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at a pre-concert reception hosted by Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio in Uyo on Sunday, Davido said the state stood out among five African locations considered for the launch of his tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEverything about Akwa Ibom is beautiful,\u201d Davido said. \u201cIf all states in Nigeria were like Akwa Ibom, I\u2019d be comfortable touring the whole country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award-winning artist, who has spent 14 years on stage, praised Governor Eno for his commitment to youth development, peace, and infrastructure. He noted that the state\u2019s stadium and hospitality made it the ideal venue for his return to live performances in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe toured America already, and it was a great success. We were looking for a good facility around Africa, and Akwa Ibom was one of the top choices,\u201d Davido said. \u201cYou have a standard facility \u2014 that\u2019s why we\u2019re starting here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senate President Akpabio commended Davido for mentoring young talents and urged him to include emerging Akwa Ibom artists in his international tours. \u201cYou\u2019ve inspired many youths through your platform,\u201d Akpabio said. \u201cCarry some of our budding stars with you as you tour abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Eno expressed gratitude to Davido for choosing Akwa Ibom and for sharing the stage with local entertainers. \u201cYou\u2019ve taken your career to the zenith, and it\u2019s an inspiration to our youths,\u201d Eno said. \u201cWe are a youth-friendly state, and we\u2019re working to develop talents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
