ABUJA, Nigeria (FN) \u2014 President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received Denmark\u2019s richest man, Anders Holch Povlsen, at the State House in Abuja, as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria\u2019s economic ties with Denmark and attract foreign investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Povlsen, chief executive officer of fashion company Bestseller and chairman of the Bestseller Foundation, was accompanied by Danish Ambassador to Nigeria Jens Bach Hansen and other senior Danish officials. Nigerian officials present included Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Dr. Bosun Tijani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Tinubu described the meeting as \u201ca strategic step toward building sustainable partnerships that will benefit Nigeria\u2019s economy and youth.\u201d He emphasized the importance of innovation and private-sector collaboration in driving national development. \u201cWe are open for business and committed to creating an environment where global investors can thrive,\u201d Tinubu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Povlsen praised Nigeria\u2019s potential and expressed interest in exploring opportunities in fashion, technology, and sustainability. \u201cNigeria has a vibrant culture and a dynamic youth population. We see great potential for collaboration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Tijani highlighted the importance of digital infrastructure and innovation in attracting foreign capital. \u201cThis visit aligns with our broader strategy to position Nigeria as a hub for tech-driven growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief of Staff Gbajabiamila noted that the administration\u2019s diplomatic outreach was yielding results. \u201cThis is one of many engagements that reflect our commitment to economic diplomacy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting comes amid a broader push by the Tinubu administration to strengthen international partnerships. According to Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the president\u2019s foreign trips have generated proposed investment commitments totaling $50.8 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs of December, Mr. President\u2019s over 30 international trips have generated 50.8 billion Dollars in announcements,\u201d Oduwole said, adding that the government is focused on converting these pledges into tangible outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
