Nigeria\u2019s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development recently announced a partnership with a European tech firm to equip athletes with performance monitoring devices ahead of international competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe recognize that technology is no longer optional in modern football,\u201d a senior ministry official said. \u201cOur goal is to ensure our athletes have access to the same tools as their counterparts abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In Ghana, mobile apps are helping local academies track player progress and connect with scouts.
