He emphasized that the London center is part of a broader strategy to ensure no Nigerian is left behind, regardless of location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The registrar also highlighted NECO\u2019s ongoing reforms, including a full transition to Computer-Based Examinations (CBE). He described the digital shift as \u201cthe single most critical strategic objective for NECO\u2019s future and its standing as a world-class assessment body.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">NECO currently operates in seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, and is preparing to open new centers in Egypt and Burkina Faso. Wushishi said the London facility would bring \u201cfar-reaching benefits,\u201d including diaspora empowerment, enhanced national pride, and increased global recognition of Nigerian qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He added that NECO certificates are already accepted by several UK institutions, including Birmingham City University and Leeds Trinity University, as well as universities in the United States, Canada, China, India, and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In a goodwill message, Nigeria\u2019s Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, praised the initiative, calling it a \u201cbold step\u201d that aligns with the Ministry\u2019s vision to ensure educational access for all Nigerian children, both at home and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThis is more than an exam center,\u201d Alausa said. \u201cIt\u2019s a bridge between Nigeria and its global citizens, and a testament to our commitment to inclusive education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Education analysts say the move could strengthen Nigeria\u2019s soft power abroad and improve academic mobility for diaspora students seeking international opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON (FN) \u2014 Nigeria\u2019s National Examinations Council (NECO) has launched its first examination center in the United Kingdom, marking a major milestone in its global expansion and efforts to serve Nigerians in the diaspora.
