ABUJA, Nigeria (FN) \u2014 The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed Dr. Bernard Doro as minister, following a brief screening that drew praise for his experience and leadership credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doro, a technocrat from Plateau State, becomes the third minister from the state in President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration. He pledged to build a humanitarian ecosystem rooted in impartiality and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI will create a humanitarian ecosystem that is inclusive, guided by impartiality and independence,\u201d Doro told lawmakers, who confirmed his nomination without objection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Tinubu had earlier requested Doro\u2019s confirmation under Section 147 (2) of the 1999 Constitution. Senate President Godswill Akpabio referred the request to the Committee of the Whole, which acted swiftly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doro replaces Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, recently elevated to National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga described Doro as a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, and strategic leadership in Nigeria and the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born in Kwall, Bassa LGA of Plateau State, Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master\u2019s in Advanced Clinical Practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
