With thousands killed and millions displaced, frustration is mounting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cI\u2019ve lost two cousins to bandit attacks in Kaduna,\u201d said Ibrahim Musa, a trader in Abuja. \u201cOur government has failed to protect us. Meanwhile, the Centre for Sovereign Development warned that foreign troops could be used to suppress dissent or bypass democratic processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">President Bola Tinubu has not formally requested U.S. military intervention, though his administration continues to engage with international partners on counterterrorism and security strategy. He has reiterated Nigeria\u2019s commitment to protecting its citizens while preserving national autonomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">On social media, the debate is fierce. \u201cWe need help, not lectures,\u201d one user posted. \u201cIf our leaders won\u2019t act, someone must.\u201d Another countered, \u201cForeign troops won\u2019t fix corruption or bad governance. They\u2019ll just leave us with new problems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">As the conversation unfolds, many Nigerians agree on one thing: the urgency of ending the violence.
