Researchers note that birch, alder and other trees now pollinate up to two weeks longer than they did in the 1990s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doctors warn that the prolonged exposure is worsening symptoms for millions. \u201cWe\u2019re seeing patients experience hay fever misery for longer stretches, sometimes well into autumn,\u201d said one allergy specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts recommend coping strategies that include staying indoors on high-pollen days, keeping windows closed, showering after outdoor activities, and using air filters.
