(FN)<\/strong>, A Butler County community is reeling after police say a young couple\u2019s marriage ended in tragedy when Ryan Hosso, 26, fatally shot his wife, Madeline Spatafore, 25, before killing himself in a wooded area near their home. Authorities said Hosso called his parents around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, confessing to the killing and threatening to take his own life. Alarmed, they contacted police. Officers arrived to find Spatafore dead inside the couple\u2019s Seven Fields residence from multiple gunshot wounds. Hosso\u2019s body was later discovered in nearby woods using thermal drone technology. He had sustained a single self\u2011inflicted gunshot wound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosso and Spatafore were high school sweethearts at Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, Pennsylvania, and married in Ohio in September 2024. Spatafore graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University in 2023 and worked as a neurocritical care physician assistant at UPMC Presbyterian. Colleagues described her as \u201clighting up a room\u201d and praised her dedication to patients. Hosso had previously worked as a mechanical engineer at Vavco, a Pittsburgh\u2011based oil and gas firm, but had not been employed there in recent years.
