LAGOS, Nigeria \u2014 Dangote Industries Limited has begun preliminary engagement and survey work for the multi-billion-dollar Olokola Deep Seaport, a centerpiece of the Group\u2019s Vision 2030 expansion strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposed port and industrial enclave, covering more than 10,000 hectares, is located within the Olokola Free Trade Zone in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area and extends eastward into Ilaje, Ondo State, along Nigeria\u2019s Atlantic coastline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Community leaders in Ode-Omi, Araromi Seaside Kingdom, and Igbokoda welcomed the project during visits by Dangote\u2019s delegation, praising its potential to transform the region\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Capt. Jamil Abubakar, Managing Director of Infrastructure & Logistics at Dangote Industries, said the port would serve as a logistics gateway for an integrated industrial ecosystem. \u201cThe Olokola Port project is a major step in unlocking Nigeria\u2019s economic potential, strengthening trade, reducing pressure on existing ports and supporting industrial growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The facility is designed to support exports of fertilizer, petrochemicals, refined petroleum products, and future liquefied natural gas shipments, while also enabling the importation of heavy industrial equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dangote Industries, led by billionaire Aliko Dangote, aims to position the seaport as a strategic hub for regional commerce and global trade.
