LOS ANGELES (AP) \u2014 Emily in Paris, the glossy romantic comedy that turned Parisian caf\u00e9s, designer fashion and office drama into a worldwide streaming obsession, will end with its sixth season, Netflix announced Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series, led by Lily Collins, became far more than a typical romantic comedy during its six year run. It grew into a global pop culture phenomenon, attracting audiences from Europe to Asia, Latin America and Africa, where viewers followed Emily Cooper\u2019s chaotic love life, career struggles and culture clashes in the French capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production on the final season has already started in Greece and Monaco, with Collins returning for one last chapter as the ambitious American marketing executive whose move to Paris changed her life and unexpectedly became one of Netflix\u2019s most recognizable international brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created by Darren Star, the show premiered in 2020 at a moment when much of the world was emerging from lockdowns and travel restrictions. For millions of viewers stuck at home, Emily in Paris offered a colorful escape filled with romance, luxury fashion, scenic European streets and the fantasy of starting over in another country.
