He called on Nigerians to use the occasion to deepen national unity and strengthen peaceful coexistence across ethnic, religious, and political lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEid al-Adha is a season that calls for reflection, unity, tolerance, and renewed commitment to the values that bind us together as one nation,\u201d Idris said. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim\u2019s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God\u2019s command, before a ram was provided as a substitute. The festival is marked by prayers, charity, and acts of sacrifice, with millions of Muslims across Nigeria preparing to celebrate by sharing meals, supporting the needy, and gathering with family and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nigeria, home to Africa\u2019s largest Muslim population after Egypt, has long observed Eid-el-Adha as a moment of reflection and solidarity.
