SOKOTO, Nigeria (AP)<\/strong> \u2014 Nigeria\u2019s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, said Tuesday that President Bola Tinubu\u2019s record in office will silence critics and secure his re\u2011election in 2027, urging citizens to reject what he described as propaganda against the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at a retreat organized by the North\u2011West Tinubu\/Matawalle Peace and Unity Initiatives, Matawalle accused opponents of spreading misinformation to discredit the administration. He insisted Tinubu\u2019s achievements in security, economic reforms and infrastructure would ultimately prove decisive. \u201cThose attacking President Tinubu with lies and propaganda will be disappointed. His achievements and commitment to national development will speak for themselves in 2027,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister pointed to strengthened armed forces and security agencies, claiming significant gains against insurgency and banditry in northern Nigeria. He added that Tinubu had inherited serious challenges but shown \u201ccourage and determination\u201d in addressing them, while also investing in education and human capital development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
