Nigeria and the Kingdom of the Netherlands have reaffirmed their commitment to closer cooperation on migration governance and human smuggling prevention, deepening a partnership that blends operational support with institutional reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At an event in Abuja, the Netherlands\u2019 Repatriation and Departure Service (DT&V) handed over new equipment to the Nigeria Immigration Service Hostmanship Unit an initiative jointly developed to promote humane, professional and guest\u2011centred public engagement across NIS operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The donation includes a 24 KVA solar inverter system, a 20\u2011kilowatt lithium backup battery, two 75\u2011inch LG smart televisions, a digital projector and screen, an outdoor wireless router, solar standing fans, an integrated sound system, microphones, a laptop, window blinds and other training\u2011support tools. Officials said the equipment will enhance training delivery, improve operational reliability and strengthen the unit\u2019s capacity to embed dignity\u2011focused service standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comptroller General of Immigration Kemi Nandap described the gesture as an investment in people and institutional culture, noting that the Hostmanship Unit though newly established has already advanced a guest\u2011centred ethos through structured training and the rollout of the NIS Guest Engagement Guidelines. She said the partnership reflects shared priorities: professionalism, empathy and excellence in migration management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nandap praised the Netherlands for sustained collaboration built on \u201ctrust and shared learning,\u201d adding that the support has evolved beyond technical assistance into a broader effort to improve public service delivery. She assured Dutch officials that the equipment would be properly maintained and fully utilised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
