Those questions must remain matters of evidence and due process. What his death does highlight is the human cost that can accompany intense public controversy. Behind every headline is a person with family, friends, colleagues and loved ones. Once a story becomes a global spectacle, the consequences can extend far beyond the original allegations. Prof. Jason Arday’s life and death therefore raise broader questions about academic accountability, media ethics, public scrutiny, online harassment and the limits of reputational punishment.
