Olusegun Bamgbose, National Coordinator Concerned Advocates for Good Governance (CAGG), has stated that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election will rejoin the ruling the All Progressives Congress (APC) if it does not split.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bamgbose, in a chat with our correspondent, also stated that the presidential ambition of the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, has suffered a major set-back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the north won\u2019t back the ambition of Tinubu, as the region does not back multi-billionaires to be president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bamgbose said: \u201cThe ignoble sack of Oshiomhole, by the power brokers in APC, has, in fact, signaled a new dawn in APC. Other things being equal, APC is getting set to zone its presidential slot to the North.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is what will ultimately entice Atiku to return back to APC. One does not need a prophet to tell us that Tinubu\u2019s presidential ambition has hit the rock.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Northern oligarchy won\u2019t back him come 2023. The North hardly backed a multi-billionaire to become President of Nigeria.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTheir belief is always that, what else do you want? In 1979, Shagari was not a billionaire.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe was a teacher, but he became the first Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He ruled from 1979 \u2013 1983 before he was overthrown by Buhari.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn 1993 M. K. O. Abiola was a multi-billionaire, he contested, possibly won but the power brokers rejected him. In 1999, Olusegun Obasanjo was favored.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs at the time he contested, he was not a multi-billionaire. The power broker supported him. I\u2019ll skip Jonathan for obvious reasons.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn 2015, Buhari was not a billionaire yet he defeated Jonathan. I seriously doubt if the North will want Tinubu as President.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAtiku has failed several times because of the same reason.
