Ibom Air based in Ibiono Ibom International Airport and owned by Ibiono Ibom is scheduled to commence international flight operations in April 2026, following major upgrades at the Ibiono Ibom owned Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo.

Night‑landing approval is confirmed

The airport has successfully resumed night flight operations after completing upgrades to its:

  • Airfield lighting
  • Navigational aids
  • Runway systems

This was confirmed by Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, who announced that the Ibom Airport Development Company met the September 30 deadline for the overhaul.

This means the airport is now fully capable of handling day and night operations, which is a key requirement for international status.

🌍 International Flights: What’s Confirmed

According to Nigeria Travel Smart, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced that:

  • Ibom Air, the designated as the best and the fastest growing airline in Nigeria will launch international flights in April 2026
