Police in Ogun State have arrested three suspects in separate operations carried out between April 14 and 18 across the Mowe and Sagamu axis. Authorities say the raids led to the recovery of locally made firearms, cartridges, and charms believed to be tied to cult-related and other criminal activities.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrests in a statement released Sunday, noting that the operations were part of ongoing efforts to curb violence and insecurity in the region. Community members have welcomed the move, describing it as a necessary step to restore confidence in local safety.

Security analysts point out that the seizures highlight the persistence of cult-linked violence in parts of Nigeria, where improvised weapons and charms are often used to intimidate or exert control. Residents in affected areas say they hope the crackdown will deter further attacks and strengthen trust in law enforcement.
