Big Brother Naija is officially back, with the launch of its 11th season introducing 24 contestants who will compete for a record grand prize worth 160 million. The new season, themed “Show Ya Sef,” premiered on Sunday night with longtime host Ebuka Obi Uchendu welcoming viewers and unveiling the housemates one by one.

The contestants come from different parts of Nigeria and represent a wide range of professions and backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, content creators, models, actors, pharmacists, software developers, teachers and fashion designers. Organisers say the diversity of the cast is intended to create a season filled with unique personalities, strategy and entertainment.

Among the contestants are Tram, a Lagos based streamer who says he is focused solely on winning, and Martins, a visual storyteller and model from Kogi State. Others include Abi, a chef and model, Chimsom Chuka, a pharmacist, Keivo, a web developer, Mercedes, a massage therapist, and Kamsy, an event planner.

The full lineup also features Sultex, Aikou, Flora, Bells, Gerald, Oyin, Sheba, Araga, Ricky, Nomy, Barry, Neche, Temi Nkem, Yusuf, Goddessa, Bluethophia and Cassi. Each housemate enters the competition with different strategies, with some openly seeking love in the house while others insist they are focused entirely on the prize.

During the live premiere, Ebuka spoke with each contestant before they entered Biggie’s house, giving viewers an early glimpse of their personalities and game plans. The launch also showcased the season’s vibrant theme, stylish fashion moments and the redesigned house where contestants will spend more than 70 days competing in tasks, nominations and evictions.

This year’s winner will receive prizes valued at 160 million, making it one of the biggest rewards in the history of the reality show. Since its debut in 2006, Big Brother Naija has grown into one of Africa’s most watched television programmes, producing celebrities, influencers and entrepreneurs while generating widespread conversations on social media.

Fans wasted no time choosing early favourites after the launch, with several contestants already generating buzz for their confidence, fashion and first impressions. Social media platforms were flooded with debates over who appears most likely to win, who could become the season’s biggest strategist and which personalities may bring the most drama to the house.

As the competition gets underway, viewers can expect weeks of alliances, rivalries, tasks, twists and evictions that have become the hallmark of the show. Whether the contestants live up to their promises or surprise audiences with unexpected moves, BBNaija Season 11 is already shaping up to be one of the most talked about entertainment events of the year.
