President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday night hosted Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The governor was accompanied by his elder brother, prominent businessman Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, and popular Afrobeat artiste David Adeleke, better known as Davido, who is Dr. Adeleke’s son.
The visit was made public by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, through a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, @DOlusegun. He wrote:
> “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in audience, H.E. Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, and Chief Adedeji Adeleke at his residence in Lagos.”
While specific details of the meeting were not disclosed, sources familiar with the event described the atmosphere as warm and reflective of President Tinubu’s inclusive approach to leadership—engaging political leaders and influential figures across party lines.
Governor Adeleke, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), faces increasing political challenges from key figures in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 elections approach.
Notably, last month, all three PDP senators from Osun State pledged their support for President Tinubu’s potential re-election bid. In addition, Hon. Oluwole Oke, a prominent PDP member from Osun in the House of Representatives, defected to the APC.
Davido’s presence at the meeting generated significant buzz on social media, with many Nigerians praising the gathering as a symbolic moment of political unity and generational connection.
