The FIFA Club World Cup trophy embarked on a thrilling journey, visiting Trump Tower in New York’s Manhattan borough on Monday. This iconic stop is part of an epic tour that took the trophy to the home cities of all 32 participating clubs, building anticipation for the final match at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 13. The ceremony was attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organisation, and Brazilian football great Ronaldo.
During the event, FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his gratitude to Eric Trump and the Trump Organisation for their support. “We are here today in Trump Tower, and it’s a great pleasure and great honor to not just unveil officially the FIFA Club World Cup trophy in New York, but to tell everyone that this trophy will be on display until the final, open for everyone, every fan of football or soccer,” he said. Infantino also announced the opening of a FIFA representative office at Trump Tower, highlighting the organization’s commitment to being local and global.
Eric Trump thanked FIFA and Infantino for bringing the tournament to the United States, saying, “On behalf of myself, on behalf of New York, on behalf of the Trump Organisation, and everybody that works in this building, we love you. We’re honored, we’re excited about all the things that FIFA is doing.” Ronaldo, a two-time FIFA World Cup winner with Brazil, also expressed his excitement, although he felt the tournament had come a bit late.
The trophy will be on display at Trump Tower Atrium, 725 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10022, from July 8 to 12, allowing fans to catch a glimpse of the coveted prize and take photos. This event marks a significant milestone in FIFA’s presence in the US, following the opening of FIFA offices in Miami, which houses the Legal & Compliance Division and colleagues involved in the operational delivery of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2026.
