Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has spoken out after being publicly humiliated and accused of theft by some individuals. In a passionate declaration of his innocence, Portable insisted he is not a thief and called on law enforcement authorities to take immediate action. The artist revealed he has formally filed a petition in Abuja against popular social media commentator, VeryDarkMan, for allegedly posting his nude images online. He also called for the arrest of those involved in physically assaulting and stripping him naked in a viral incident.
Portable maintained that the actions against him were not only defamatory but also a direct attack on his human rights and dignity. He accused his detractors of intentionally trying to tarnish his image and reputation, especially as a public figure. The singer demanded justice, stressing that nobody is above the law and that the police should arrest and prosecute all those responsible for the assault and the spread of false information against him.
“I am not a thief. Nobody should spoil my name. I have written a petition in Abuja against VeryDarkMan for posting my nudes and against those that stripped me naked and lied that I stole,” Portable stated in a video posted on his social media. He added that his legal team is actively pursuing the matter and warned that defamation and unlawful treatment will not be tolerated, no matter who is involved.
