The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the approval of 3,000 job openings in its Mainstream Civil Service, a move aimed at strengthening public service delivery and driving youth empowerment across the state. Governor Umo Eno’s administration is committed to transparency and job creation through the ARISE Agenda, and this recruitment exercise is part of that effort.

The recruitment process will be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal, where applicants can upload their relevant documents, such as academic certificates and NYSC discharge or exemption certificates. The portal will serve as the sole platform for the application process, and candidates are required to apply for only one vacancy that aligns with their qualifications.

In a statement released on Monday, the Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Frank Ekpenyong, said the recruitment process will be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal — https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng.

The job openings span a wide range of disciplines and cadres, including education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, science, and administration. Some of the positions available include teachers, nurses, administrators, engineers, scientists, state counsels, technicians, accountants, and agriculturists. The recruitment process will involve aptitude tests and interviews, and successful applicants will receive final notifications through the portal.

According to the Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Frank Ekpenyong, various departments are finalizing documentation for their specific vacancies, and listings are expected to go live on or before July 31, 2025. The commissioner wishes all applicants the best of luck and thanks them for their interest in serving the state.

The ARISE Employment Portal will guide applicants through the entire process, from application to onboarding. Once appointed, successful applicants’ status will be updated to “Employed” on the portal, and they will be directed to report to the appropriate departments for documentation and onboarding. This initiative is a significant step towards empowering the youth and strengthening public service delivery in Akwa Ibom State.
