Controversial social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has reignited the debate surrounding the late Nigerian singer Mohbad’s struggles and death. Responding to Naira Marley’s recent video addressing controversies linking him to Mohbad’s struggles, VeryDarkMan alleged that Mohbad had been “locked” and those behind the act had “thrown away the keys”. Although he didn’t elaborate, many interpreted his remarks as pointing fingers at specific individuals, including Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi.

The controversy began when Naira Marley released a video claiming that part of Mohbad’s royalties was paid into his mother-in-law’s bank account, while some other funds were sent to his mother. VeryDarkMan’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans and supporters agreeing with his stance and questioning why Mohbad’s money was being channeled through his mother-in-law’s account. Others have accused VeryDarkMan of trying to shift the narrative and possibly frame Wunmi.

This is not the first time VeryDarkMan has dragged Wunmi into the conversation. Weeks earlier, he alleged that she might have been pregnant for another man and passed the child off as Mohbad’s, backing his claims with screenshots from a private WhatsApp group reportedly created by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. The social media commentator has been actively involved in the case, even offering a N20 million reward for video proof of Naira Marley bullying Mohbad.

Naira Marley has responded to the allegations, presenting evidence and receipts in his video. VeryDarkMan has acknowledged the evidence but urged critics to provide counterproof. The activist has also apologized to Mohbad’s father, admitting that some of his earlier comments may have come across as insensitive.

The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death continues to unfold, with many calling for justice and accountability. As the investigation progresses, the public remains divided on the roles of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and other individuals in Mohbad’s struggles and death. The case has sparked a wider conversation about the music industry and the treatment of artists.
