The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a crucial directive to all Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who submitted their O’level results before the release of the final 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) outcomes. Through its weekly bulletin on Monday, August 25, 2025, the Board urged these candidates to revisit accredited JAMB centres and upload their final WAEC results to remain eligible for admission consideration.

Clearing Previous Uploads to Ensure Accuracy

JAMB has proactively cleared all previously submitted O’level results from its system to eliminate any discrepancies. This includes records uploaded while results were still pending or under revision. The decision ensures that only final and verified WAEC results are considered during the admission process.

Universal Re-upload Requirement

Importantly, JAMB emphasized that all affected candidates must reupload their WAEC SSCE results—regardless of whether their final results differ from what was initially submitted. This blanket requirement aims to standardize the process and avoid confusion or errors in the admissions database.

Reactivation of the Upload Portal Follows Brief Suspension

The latest directive follows JAMB’s temporary suspension of its result upload portal on August 14, 2025. The suspension addressed technical glitches that arose after WAEC revised its initial results. Now that these issues have been resolved, the portal is once again active, allowing candidates to complete their submissions.

A Timely Reminder for Admission Aspirants

Uploading WAEC results is a mandatory requirement for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions. Candidates who fail to comply risk exclusion, regardless of their UTME performance. From this point forward, only those with updated and properly uploaded results will be considered for placement in colleges, universities, polytechnics, and other institutions. Prospective students are encouraged to act promptly and use only accredited JAMB centres to avoid delays or technical issues.
