A UK-based Nigerian woman has cautioned reality TV star, Phyna, to seek legal representation in her ongoing dispute with the Dangote Group over her sister’s accident, stressing that verbal agreements and chat records may not hold weight against a multinational corporation. Her advice, delivered in a viral video, has stirred conversations online as the controversy surrounding Phyna and the conglomerate continues to gain public attention.
The woman, while addressing the matter, emphasized that multinational organizations such as the Dangote Group operate strictly by policy, documentation, and legal procedures, leaving no room for informal negotiations. She warned that without proper legal backing, Phyna risked being left vulnerable in her pursuit of justice for her sister’s case. According to her, the company’s demand for a doctor’s letter was a strategic move, as no doctor would easily issue such documentation without due process.
Quoting Phyna’s earlier claims that her sister’s doctor had declared her fit to be flown abroad, the woman questioned the absence of written proof. She highlighted that in the absence of such evidence, Dangote could easily deny responsibility. “They can come out tomorrow and say that the person you’ve been chatting with is not in a position of authority to authorize anything. What do you do then?” she asked, underscoring the risks of relying solely on informal exchanges.
She further explained that legal documentation remains the only safeguard when dealing with a conglomerate of Dangote’s stature. “Phyna, lawyer up. If you drag Dangote from now till tomorrow, nothing is going to change. Word of mouth is not legally binding in any way. Chats don’t hold in law. Document everything you’re doing with them,” she stated.
Her advice comes at a time when the dispute between Phyna and the Dangote Group has drawn widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians urging transparency and accountability. The case continues to unfold, with growing public interest in whether Phyna will heed the advice and seek legal redress to strengthen her case.
