Singer Jessie J has announced the cancellation and rescheduling of several tour dates as she prepares to undergo further surgery following her cancer diagnosis. The 37-year-old revealed earlier this year that she had undergone a mastectomy after an early detection of breast cancer. Speaking to her 14 million Instagram followers, she explained that doctors had advised a second procedure which must be completed before the end of 2025.
Although she reassured fans the operation was “nothing too serious,” Jessie J admitted the timing clashed with her upcoming schedule. Her European dates in October will be rearranged, while her US shows have been cancelled entirely due to calendar conflicts. “I’m so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad,” she said in a video message. “But I need to be better, I need to be healed and this is the right decision to make.”
The star, known for hits including Price Tag and Domino, has been candid about her health journey since first sharing her diagnosis in June. At the time, she revealed that post-surgery tests showed no further spread of the disease. Jessie J also disclosed plans for reconstructive surgery to make her breasts look more symmetrical, telling fans there was still “lots of healing to go.”
While she did not specify what her upcoming procedure will involve, Jessie J emphasised that the operation is essential for her recovery. Her decision to prioritise her health, she said, was made with a view to returning stronger to the stage. Fans flooded her social media with supportive messages, praising her openness and resilience throughout her treatment.
Despite the setback, Jessie J promised she would be back performing as soon as she is fully recovered. “This is just a pause, not the end,” she assured followers. For many, her honesty about both the physical and emotional challenges of living with cancer has reinforced her reputation as one of pop music’s most outspoken and relatable voices.
