YouTuber, rapper, and boxer Olajide “KSI” Olatunji has been unveiled as the newest judge on Britain’s Got Talent (BGT), stepping in to replace Bruno Tonioli for the show’s upcoming 19th series. ITV confirmed the announcement on Tuesday, revealing that Tonioli would not return due to scheduling conflicts with his role as a judge on the US show Dancing With The Stars.

KSI, who appeared as a guest judge in the previous season, quickly won over audiences after using his golden buzzer to send eventual winner Harry Moulder through to the finals. Reflecting on his new role, he expressed excitement about joining Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon on the judging panel. “I’m so grateful and happy to be a part of the Britain’s Got Talent team for another season. I had such a good time last year and I can’t wait to see more top talent. I’m full of energy, ready to go, and determined to help make this the most entertaining BGT season ever,” KSI said.

The 30-year-old internet star, best known as a member of the Sidemen—a YouTube collective with more than 22 million subscribers—has built a global profile through his music, boxing career, and digital ventures. His growing popularity and influence among younger audiences are seen as a major boost for the show, which continues to balance traditional family entertainment with fresh cultural appeal.

Bruno Tonioli, who joined BGT in 2023 following the exit of David Walliams, described his departure as bittersweet. “After three incredible series, I’ve sadly had to step down. While I look forward to filming a new series of Dancing With The Stars in the US, I will miss the chaos and joy of BGT, as well as the brilliant people I’ve had the privilege of working with,” he said. The show’s producers praised Tonioli for his energy and creativity, calling him “SEN-SA-TION-AL!” and wished him success in his next chapter.

Filming for the 19th series of Britain’s Got Talent is expected to resume later this year, with the show scheduled to air in 2026. Fans are now eagerly awaiting how KSI’s dynamic personality and influence will shape the next season of one of the UK’s most-watched talent competitions.
