In a bid to sharpen communication and foster greater transparency, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has released a comprehensive directory of its Public Relations Officers (PROs) across its zones and states. The contact list, available via the NPF’s official website, includes over 70 officers by name, rank, zone or state designation, and their phone numbers—offering citizens clearer channels through which to voice concerns or seek information.

At the national level, the Force PRO, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, based at Force Headquarters in Abuja, heads the list. Alongside him are CSP Isuku Victor Edailokun, the Deputy Force PRO, and other key officers handling strategic communication, public complaints, media editing, and more.

The directory extends to the zonal and state levels. For example, Zone 2 (Lagos) lists CSP Umma Tunni Ayuba (phone: 08100025614), Yola Zone 3 has SP Yusuf Adamu Mohammed (8032281587), Zone 6 in Calabar has DSP Jeffery (08139155174), while across state commands, SP Abimbola Adebisi is listed for Lagos State and DSP Ramhan Nansel for Nasarawa.

The contact page also includes specialized PROs such as those assigned to Airwing, Maritime, Police Medical Services, Police Academies, and the Police Cooperative. For example, the PRO for the Police Academy in Kano is SP Mahe Iro (07038110908), while for the Police Medical Services, it is DSP Eze Chidiebere K. (8063388336).

The NPF has also provided a general communication channel: the email address pressforabuja@police.gov.ng, along with a central phone line +234 8037 168 147, both based in Abuja. These are meant for broader inquiries, press communications, or issues not addressed through state or zonal PROs.

Security analysts and civil society groups have welcomed the directory, saying it could reduce delays in information flow between citizens and the police. However, some stakeholders warn that having contacts listed is only a first step—there must be follow-up to ensure responses are timely, accurate, and useful.

As Nigerians increasingly call for accountability and openness from public institutions, the PRO directory is seen as a positive move. Still, much will depend on how effectively these officers engage with the public and whether the NPF ensures all listed contacts remain current.
