ABUJA, Nigeria (FN) — President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian legal practitioner Tolu Obamuroh on his elevation to partner at White & Case LLP, a major international law firm headquartered in New York.
Obamuroh, who will serve as a partner in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice based in Paris, is among three lawyers worldwide promoted in the specialized field and the only Nigerian-qualified lawyer named in this year’s partner class. His appointment becomes effective January 1, 2026.
In a statement issued Friday, Tinubu described Obamuroh’s achievement as a testament to Nigerian excellence and a reflection of the country’s growing influence on the global professional stage.

“This outstanding achievement is a reflection of Nigerian competence, resilience, and global excellence,” Tinubu said. “Tolu’s success represents the best of the country’s new generation of professionals who continue to distinguish themselves worldwide.”
The president also framed the achievement as an example of his administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, emphasizing merit, integrity, and international impact.
Obamuroh has built a career in international dispute resolution, representing sovereigns and multinational corporations in high-stakes, cross-border arbitration—particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He also advises the Nigerian federal government on various international matters under the supervision of the attorney general and minister of justice.
Tinubu commended the lawyer’s discipline and dedication, urging other young Nigerians to draw inspiration from his professional journey.
Obamuroh’s promotion marks a significant moment for the global Nigerian diaspora, highlighting the continued contribution of Nigerian professionals to high-level international legal practice.
