ABUJA, Nigeria (FN) — President Bola Tinubu has retained Major General Emmanuel Akomaye Parker Undiandeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence, continuing his role in overseeing Nigeria’s military intelligence operations amid a broader reshuffle of the country’s security leadership.
Undiandeye, a native of Bedia in Cross River State, was first appointed to the position in June 2023. His retention signals continuity in Nigeria’s intelligence strategy as the administration seeks to bolster national security and improve coordination among the armed forces.
A graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Undiandeye has held various command and intelligence roles throughout his career. As Chief of Defence Intelligence, he is responsible for advising the government on defense-related intelligence matters and coordinating surveillance and threat assessments across military branches.
His continued leadership comes as Nigeria faces complex security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, and cyber threats. Analysts say retaining Undiandeye may help stabilize intelligence operations and maintain momentum in ongoing reforms.
