LOS ANGELES — Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga are leading the pack for the 2026 Grammy Awards, topping a wide-ranging list of nominees that reflects the year’s most influential music.

Lamar secured nine nominations, including album of the year for “GNX,” a project praised for its lyrical depth and sonic innovation. His collaboration with SZA, “Luther,” earned nods for both record and song of the year.

Lady Gaga followed with seven nominations, her strongest showing in over a decade. Her single “Abracadabra” landed in major categories, while her album “Chromatica II” was recognized for its bold production and vocal performance.

The album of the year category features a competitive lineup, including entries from Lamar, Gaga, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Justin Bieber. Each artist delivered chart-topping releases that resonated across genres.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA received multiple nominations for their ballad Luther, which topped the US Billboard charts for 11 weeks earlier this year

Lamar’s “GNX” marks his fifth consecutive studio album to be nominated for album of the year. A win would be his first in the category and a rare triumph for a rap album.

Gaga’s nominations span pop and general categories, showcasing her versatility and continued evolution as a genre-defying artist. She also earned recognition for best pop solo performance and best music video.

Producers Jack Antonoff and Cirkut each received seven nominations for their work across multiple projects. Leon Thomas and Sabrina Carpenter followed with six nominations apiece.

The Grammy ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will be broadcast live and streamed globally.

Trevor Noah returns as host for the fourth consecutive year, bringing his signature humor and insight to the event. Performers and presenters will be announced in the weeks leading up to the show.

Voting is underway, with Recording Academy members selecting winners across more than 90 categories. The results will be revealed during the live broadcast, celebrating the best in music from the past year.
