Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has unveiled the cast of her upcoming movie The Return of Arinzo, igniting buzz across the entertainment industry with the inclusion of Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
The announcement, made on January 19, 2026, featured a star-studded lineup that blends Nollywood veterans with fresh faces. Wunmi, making her acting debut, was introduced as part of the ensemble, a move that has stirred both excitement and controversy given her late husband Mohbad’s enduring legacy in Nigerian music.
Adding international flair, Tanzanian artist Juma Jux — who is also Iyabo Ojo’s son-in-law — will appear in the film, marking his first Nollywood role. His casting has sparked debate about cross-border collaborations and family ties in the industry.
Other confirmed stars include Funke Akindele, Scarlet Gomez, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Uzor Arukwe, Muka Ray, Priscilla Ojo, Bimbo Akintola, and Mercy Aigbe. The film follows Ojo’s 2025 hit Labake Olododo, which performed strongly in Nigerian cinemas.
While fans celebrated the bold casting choices, critics questioned whether Wunmi’s debut was opportunistic and whether Jux’s involvement reflected nepotism. Supporters countered that the lineup represents Nollywood’s growing global reach and willingness to embrace new talent.
With production underway, The Return of Arinzo is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Nollywood releases of 2026.
