Celebrity DJ Fat Tony has spoken publicly about the much-discussed moment at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding to Nicola Peltz, describing Victoria Beckham’s dance with her son as “awkward” but denying claims of inappropriate behavior.
The lavish ceremony, held in Palm Beach, Florida in April 2022, was attended by hundreds of high-profile guests. During the reception, singer Marc Anthony invited Brooklyn to the stage for his first dance with Nicola. Instead, Victoria Beckham joined her son, sparking speculation and later accusations from Brooklyn that his mother had “hijacked” the moment.
Speaking to media this week, Fat Tony a longtime friend of the Beckham family and the official DJ at the event clarified the situation. “It was awkward, yes, but not scandalous,” he said. “There was no ‘slut-dropping,’ no Spice Girls theatrics. The issue was timing. That dance should have been between Brooklyn and Nicola, and everyone in the room felt the discomfort.”
Brooklyn Beckham, now 26, has since alleged that the incident was part of a wider pattern of disrespect from his parents toward his marriage. He claimed he was instructed to place his hands on his mother’s hips during the dance, which left him “humiliated.”
The episode has reignited discussion about tensions between the Beckham and Peltz families, which have been the subject of tabloid speculation since the wedding. While Fat Tony sought to downplay the controversy, he acknowledged that the moment “overshadowed what should have been a romantic highlight of the evening.”
Brooklyn’s comments have added fuel to rumors of strained relations between him, Nicola, and the Beckham household. Victoria and David Beckham have not publicly addressed the latest claims, though insiders suggest the family remains divided over the fallout.
For many observers, the dance has become symbolic of the broader rift between Brooklyn and his parents. What was intended as a celebration of love has instead become a recurring headline about family dynamics, celebrity culture, and the pressures of public life.
