Sponsors Withdraw as Pressure Mounts Over Kanye West’s UK Festival Appearance

LONDON (FN), Pressure is mounting on organizers of London’s Wireless Festival after Kanye West, now known as Ye, was announced as a headliner for the July event, prompting sponsor withdrawals and political condemnation over his history of antisemitic remarks.

West is scheduled to perform a three-night residency at the festival in Finsbury Park from July 10–12, 2026. The booking has sparked backlash from advocacy groups and fans, who cite his repeated antisemitic comments and recent song “Heil Hitler” as reasons he should be removed from the lineup.

Several major sponsors have already pulled out. Pepsi ended its decade-long partnership with the festival, while Diageo, Rockstar Energy, and PayPal also withdrew support. Organizers now face mounting financial and reputational pressure as the controversy grows.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer weighed in, calling the decision to book West “deeply concerning” and stressing that antisemitism “must be confronted.” Advocacy groups have urged the Home Office to consider banning West’s entry into the United Kingdom.

Wireless Festival, one of Europe’s largest urban music events, attracts tens of thousands of fans each year. The dispute underscores the tension between artistic freedom and accountability for harmful rhetoric, with global attention now focused on whether organizers will stand by the booking or bow to public and political pressure.
