President Bola Tinubu has extended an invitation to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). The President made this statement during the inauguration of Arterial Road N16 to Arterial Road N20 and other roads in the Katampe District.

Tinubu expressed his willingness to welcome Wike to the APC, saying, “We have somebody in Nyesom Wike. He’s not a member of our party, not yet. But the day he changes his mind and registers with the progressives, we will welcome him.” This statement highlights the potential for cross-party collaboration and Tinubu’s openness to strengthening his party’s ranks.

The President emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, stating that it is a necessity, not a luxury. He highlighted the significance of good roads in facilitating industrialization and economic growth. Tinubu noted that his administration is committed to investing in roads, renewable energy, healthcare, education, and digital infrastructure.

Tinubu emphasized that the project represents more than just a stretch of asphalt, affirming the administration’s commitment to urban transformation under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He stated, “This project affirms our commitment to urban transformation, under our Renewed Hope Agenda. Since assuming office in May 2023, this administration has been guided by a philosophy anchored on reform and regeneration.”

The potential implications of Wike joining the APC are significant, considering his influence and reputation in Nigerian politics. It could strengthen the party’s position in the FCT and potentially impact the political landscape in the country.
