Football fans across the globe are gearing up for a historic Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as Manchester City, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid make their debut in the groundbreaking FIFA Club World Cup. This expanded, first-of-its-kind event brings together 32 of the world’s top club teams for a month-long festival of football in the United States.

The inaugural edition of the revamped FIFA Club World Cup features a World Cup-style group stage and knockout rounds, with matches played across 12 iconic venues in the USA. The final will be played at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Manchester City, who finished third in the Premier League last season, will kick off their Group G campaign against Wydad Casablanca at the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium in Philadelphia. The match is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM WAT and will be streamed live on Showmax.

Inter Milan will face Monterrey at Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena, at 2:00 AM WAT for their Group E opener. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso will kick off his first competitive game as Real Madrid coach when he takes on Al Hilal at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, beginning at 8:00 PM WAT for Group H. With only the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout rounds, every match is crucial for these European powerhouses.

The stakes are high as City, Inter, and Madrid aim to make a statement, avoid early upsets, and chase the ultimate prize of being crowned the best club on the planet. The tournament promises to be an exciting and unpredictable ride, with the world’s top teams competing for the coveted title.
