Phyna recently ignited widespread attention on Instagram by publicly calling out activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), accusing him of painting himself as a hero in the case of her sister, Ruth, while sidelining her role entirely. In a stream of Instagram stories, she shared screenshots to counter VDM’s accusations of her alleged betrayal during the process of seeking justice following Ruth’s accident involving a Dangote truck.

She alleged that VDM had edited their conversations selectively to favour his own narrative, thereby misrepresenting her level of involvement. Phyna further claimed that she had reached out to him repeatedly—via calls and messages—but was met with silence, reinforcing her belief that he was positioning himself as the dominant player in Ruth’s justice journey.

Among other grievances, Phyna recounted a personal incident involving her car mechanic, Beebex. She claimed VDM mishandled the situation by miscommunicating about repair costs in a way that dismissed her concerns—another instance she said underscored his manipulative tactics. She went on to accuse him of lying in public videos, especially about how Dangote representatives were impressed—or even fearful—of him, stating instead that they were repulsed by his behavior.

The fallout from her posts prompted a flurry of reactions from fans. One supporter urged Phyna not to underestimate her own power, noting that VDM “couldn’t even get a voice for the other lady,” while others speculated that conversations were twisted in VDM’s favor or criticized Phyna’s decision to involve him in personal matters. These mixed responses underscored the tension and confusion stirred by the online dispute.

In response to the backlash and accusations, VDM broke his silence via Legit.ng, expressing his disappointment over Phyna’s claims of betrayal and announcing new rules for working with those who approach him for help. He revealed plans to record future interactions to ensure transparency and protect against what he described as “sneaky patterns.”
