The former wife of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has launched a scathing attack on the monarch, accusing him of neglecting his parental responsibilities and branding him a “deadbeat father.” The allegations have stirred controversy in Osun State, with many closely watching the royal family’s private affairs spill into the public domain.
In a statement shared on social media, the ex-wife alleged that the monarch had failed to provide adequate care and financial support for their child since the dissolution of their marriage. She claimed that despite his royal status and influence, the Oluwo had consistently shirked his duties as a father, leaving her to shoulder the full burden of raising the child alone.
According to her, attempts to reach an amicable arrangement for the child’s welfare had been unsuccessful, as the monarch allegedly displayed indifference towards the child’s needs. She accused him of prioritizing his public image and royal engagements over the responsibilities of fatherhood, describing his behavior as unbecoming of a leader expected to serve as a role model.
