LAGOS — In a startling and emotional development, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly accused her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of subjecting her to domestic violence, saying she “cannot stand the violence” anymore and indicating that she has left their marital home amid escalating tensions.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows the 25-year-old actress breaking into tears and lamenting that while she is treated as a “queen” in her own home, she feels “nothing” in her husband’s residence. “I am nothing in Ned Nwoko’s house, but in my house I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence. It’s too much,” she said, as voices screaming and arguing could be heard in the background.

According to film producer Stanley On-Top, who shared the video, the violence escalated after thugs allegedly sent by the senator stormed into the actress’s residence. On-Top claimed that Regina’s brothers intervened and successfully confronted the assailants, preventing the situation from worsening. Following the incident, sources close to the actress said she moved out of the family home to stay with relatives, citing concerns for her safety.

The video sparked outrage online, with many calling for an investigation and urging law enforcement to ensure Regina’s protection. Despite growing pressure, neither Regina nor Senator Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the Senate of Nigeria, has issued a formal statement confirming or denying the allegations. Gossip blogs and entertainment platforms report that the couple’s marriage, which began in 2019 amidst public scrutiny due to their wide age difference, is now at the center of a storm of speculation over its future.

In the viral video, viewers can see Regina distressed and emotionally drained, repeatedly saying she “cannot remain there anymore.” The footage also captured several people shouting, and some appearing to prepare for physical confrontation. The exact cause of the altercation remains unclear, but heightened tension and alleged physical threats are believed to be major contributing factors.

The development marks the first time Regina has hinted at domestic violence publicly. Observers note that similar issues were at the heart of her short film “Smile for the Camera,” which recounts the experiences of individuals trapped in abusive relationships, suggesting that her current situation may have deep emotional resonance.

As of now, neither Senator Nwoko nor Regina has spoken to the media about the situation, leaving many fans and industry colleagues calling for prompt legal action and psychological support for the actress.
