ABUJA, Nigeria — Nigerian actress Regina Daniels announced the reconciliation of her long-estranged parents, actress Rita Daniels and her father, in a social media post that underscored the emotional gravity of the moment.
Daniels, 25, described the reunion as a rare act of unity, prompted by efforts to secure the release of her brother, Sammy West, who is reportedly in detention. “Two concluded sworn enemies reuniting with no negative ulterior motive other than their daughter’s happiness,” she wrote. “And I dare question God for putting me in this situation?”
The announcement comes amid reported tensions in Daniels’ marriage to Nigerian senator and businessman Ned Nwoko. While Daniels did not elaborate on the nature of the marital strain, her post hinted at personal distress and frustration over her brother’s prolonged detention.
Both parents are currently in Abuja, working together to advocate for Sammy’s release. In a video shared online, they expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their support. Rita Daniels, visibly emotional, said, “We are doing this for our children. That’s what matters now.”
Daniels’ father, who has remained largely out of the public eye, added, “We may have had our differences, but when it comes to our children, we stand together.”
