Senator Ned Nwoko Turns 65, Reaffirms Dedication to Nigeria’s Development

ABUJA, Nigeria (FN) — Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko marked his 65th birthday on Sunday 21 December,2025. using the occasion to reaffirm his dedication to public service and national development.

Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, said his life’s work remains focused on improving the welfare of Nigerians through legislation, advocacy and community projects. He described public service as “a lifelong responsibility” rather than a career.

The senator first entered politics in 1999, when he was elected to the House of Representatives for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency. During his tenure, he championed initiatives aimed at expanding access to education, strengthening infrastructure and creating economic opportunities.

Today, Nwoko is known for his advocacy on malaria eradication, youth empowerment and environmental sustainability. He has consistently argued that tackling these issues is central to Nigeria’s future prosperity.

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Nwoko on his milestone, calling him “a dedicated public servant whose contributions to national development continue to make meaningful impact.” Tinubu praised his consistency in pursuing transformative policies.

Tributes also came from colleagues, constituents and civil society groups. Many described Nwoko as a leader who blends governance with grassroots impact, citing his philanthropic efforts such as scholarships and community development projects.

Nwoko said his focus in the coming years will remain on legislation that addresses pressing national challenges, including healthcare, education and economic empowerment. He pledged to continue working closely with communities to ensure that policies translate into real improvements in daily life.

At 65, Nwoko emphasized that his commitment to service is stronger than ever. “Public service is not about age or position,” he said. “It is about responsibility, and I will continue to carry that responsibility with dedication.”
