APC’s Damilola James Hails Nomination as Lagos Deputy Governorship Candidate

Damilola James, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has offered an expansive message of gratitude and reflection following her nomination. In a statement shared on her X handle, she described her emergence as a product of divine grace and a testament to Lagos’ tradition of inclusiveness and progressive politics. She noted that her story should inspire women, youths, and aspiring leaders, reminding them that “there is no ceiling to our greatness.”

James expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, praising their leadership for strengthening democratic values and stabilizing Nigeria’s economy. She also thanked Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his wife Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, APC governorship candidate Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and his wife Oluremi Hamzat, alongside party elders and members across the state. She commended the Governance Advisory Council led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi for its guidance, while acknowledging the encouragement of traditional rulers, community leaders, grassroots mobilisers, women leaders, and youth groups.

Reflecting on her political journey, James paid tribute to the people of Badagry and Badagry West, where she previously served, saying their support has been a constant source of strength and inspiration. She dedicated her nomination to women, youths, and aspiring leaders across Lagos, stressing that her emergence should encourage greater participation in governance. She pledged to work closely with Dr Hamzat to sustain and expand Lagos’ developmental strides, consolidating the state’s reputation as a model of progressive governance and a centre of excellence.
