LAGOS, Nigeria (FN) — Nollywood actress Eve Esin has opened up about her emotional journey to finding love and getting married at 43, a testimony that has stirred heartfelt responses from family, fans, and faith leaders across Nigeria.

In a candid social media post, Esin revealed that she tied the knot on October 18, 2025 — just one day after her 44th birthday — following years of public scrutiny and personal trials. “To so many, the testimony I have is almost impossible. 43? Not married? Old cargo!!!” she wrote. “Who says a thing and it comes to pass when God has not spoken?”

Esin said her story is not about motivation but mercy. “I am not a motivational speaker but a child God showed mercy,” she added. “Delay is not denial.”

Her family members expressed deep joy and pride in her resilience. “We watched her hold on to faith when others gave up,” said her elder sister, Grace Esin. “She never let the pressure break her spirit. Seeing her walk down the aisle was a moment of answered prayers.”

Close friends and colleagues in the film industry also celebrated her milestone. “Eve’s story is a reminder that love has no deadline,” said fellow actress Ini Edo. “She’s always been a woman of strength, and now she’s walking in her joy.”

Faith leaders praised her testimony as a beacon of hope. Pastor Ifeanyi Nwachukwu of Lagos-based Grace Temple Ministries said, “Her story is a powerful message to women who feel forgotten. God’s timing is perfect, and Eve’s testimony proves that.”

On social media, thousands of users shared messages of support and personal reflections. “I cried reading her post,” wrote @AdaFaithfully on X (formerly Twitter). “I’m 39 and single, and this gave me hope again.”

Esin’s post has since gone viral, sparking broader conversations about societal pressure on women to marry early and the stigma surrounding single women in their 40s. Advocates say her openness is helping to dismantle harmful stereotypes.

“She’s not just telling her story — she’s rewriting the narrative for countless women,” said relationship therapist Tolu Ajayi. “Her courage is contagious.”

As Esin begins this new chapter, she says she hopes her journey will inspire others to trust in divine timing. “May God in His infinite mercy grant the desires of your heart and divinely connect you to that person that completes you,” she wrote.
