Early Monday morning, a government girls boarding school in Kebbi State of Nigeria was attacked by terrorists and the Vice Principal was killed, while twenty five girls were abducted by Islamic terrorists.

The school, Maga Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, is just a few distance from the state capital. The attack started at 4am on Monday and despite the efforts of the police the terrorists breached the school perimeter. The Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, was killed while resisting the terrorists in an effort to protect the young girls.
The police spokesman, Nafiu Abubakar, indicated that the terrorists scaled the fence despite the fierce resistance from policemen on duty and seized the students. He also indicated that additional security resources have been posted to the school and deployed to hunt down the terrorists.
Nigerians are expressing surprise that terrorists can abduct twenty-five young girls and escape into the night without any trace. They have called on the government to seek the assistance of the United States in stabilizing the security situation in the country.
The Northwest of Nigeria has been racked with violence. The kidnapping of the girls is reminiscent of the kidnap of almost three hundred Chibok girls in 2014. While a few of the girls managed to escape, some were never seen again. Others were impregnated by the Islamic terrorists.
