ABAKALIKI, Nigeria (FN), Nollywood actress Scarlet Gomez has revealed that her husband, Temi Gomez, is unbothered by her on-screen kissing roles, saying his trust and maturity are the foundation of their marriage.
Speaking during an appearance on the interview program Curiosity Made Me Ask, Gomez said her husband understands the demands of her profession. “My husband doesn’t care about me kissing in movies. I am married to a man, not a boy. He doesn’t have ego and he trusts his wife,” she said.
Her comments quickly ignited debate on Nigerian social media. Supporters praised Temi Gomez’s stance as a sign of confidence and respect for his wife’s craft. “This is what maturity looks like,” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Others criticized the actress, arguing that publicizing such details undermines traditional values. “No real man would allow this,” another commenter posted.
The controversy highlights ongoing cultural tensions in Nigeria’s film industry, where actors often face scrutiny over intimate roles. While some see Gomez’s remarks as a progressive step toward normalizing professional boundaries in Nollywood, others view them as a challenge to conservative expectations of marriage.
